Stonerds is the product of Benjamin Van Den Broeck, a class final financed entirely out of pocket. Combining animation & live action at a very humble budget was an ambious & frankly risky feat for someone considered a "newbie" to the filmmaking scene. Originally released back in 2008 to a limited audience at festivals around Los Angeles that gained little attention. It was only till 2010 when the tides started to turn in our favor.

The script was written in the first months at LA Film School, classmates joined together to produce the film over a 5 day period in the third semester of school. Although full of headaches & scheduling issues, the film wrapped on September 21st, 2007 with little to no idea whether the entire concept would work at all. After a full year of animation & post effects, the film was officially finished in 2008. Below are a few of the shooting locations, the set diagrams & an original storyboard drawn by Ben.

The film is the product of not only Ben, but also of some talented friends, family & colleagues including the actors featured in the film. No one was paid a cent for their efforts on stage & our animator, Adny Angrand, worked months both day & night at a very humble expense. Cinematographer Matthew Perez, First AC Kelvin Blasko & Second AC Jennie Bond shot the film beautifully during the 5 day period of shooting, & was edited together as a joint effort of Josh Peterson & Benjamin Van Den Broeck. The production was managed by Remarrow Morrow. Lastly, Ben's mother Hedwig Van Den Broeck gave immense dedication to making sure her son's dream became a reality to whom he owes the film to.

After a successful release on Albino Black Sheep of over 10,000 views in the first month, a renewed spirit has risen to continue the series as planned.
